Heard on the street: Consultants Forum and FDI Forum Offer Dual Value

With budgets tight and oversight close many ED professionals who are to attend the upcoming dual Forums in San Francisco say the events "meet the close scrutiny conference travel gets" today at many ED agencies for several good reasons.

The Consultants Forum passes muster as a great value proposition because of its no nonsense all business program, top flight consultant speakers, strong networking opportunities, compact schedule ( less days away from the office) , all inclusive fee (all meals, etc.) and a conference rate of $199 per night at a 5 star hotel. We are hearing that given a choice of events to attend in 2010 many have chose to attend the Forum over many other regular conferences because of the Forums high end information value and first class program.

Also with the FDI Forum immediately following The Consultants Forum many attendees say they like the dual value because it's an entirely separate program with the opportunity to meet new speakers without leaving the hotel and it saves additional travel expense.

Being held in the "City by the Bay " helps, too.

Emerging From Crisis: Inward Investment Rebounding in The U.S.

As we emerge from the credit crisis and look at the latest FDI figures we see that despite the challenging economic landscape some countries were able to maintain or increase their project levels last year. The U.S. saw the largest increase in project numbers in 2009, up 37% from 2008. The outlook for FDI in 2010 looks positive according to UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade & Development). From a multinational perspective, profits have been on the increase worldwide since the second quarter of 2009. This could lead companies to revaluate their investment plans for 2010, giving rise to increasing foreign investment flows.
